Jason Pack, Founder of Eye on ISIS in Libya and former Executive Director of the US-Libya Business Association (USLBA). Jason has advised the UN, UK, NATO and most Western governments. His consultancy, Libya-Analysis® specializes in producing weekly Libya monitoring products focused on shipping and infrastructure, detailed scenario analysis of Libya’s oil industry, and comprehensive influence maps of both Libya’s militias/stakeholders and its media outlets.

Jason is the editor of The 2011 Libyan Uprisings and the Struggle for the Post-Qadhafi Future (Palgrave Macmillan June 2013) and lead author of Libya’s Faustian Bargains: Breaking the Appeasement Cycle (Atlantic Council May 2014) and The Origins and Evolution of ISIS in Libya (Atlantic Council June 2017). His analysis and opinion articles have appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Spectator, Newsweek, The Financial Times, The Guardian, Foreign Policy, and Foreign Affairs.

Sir Vincent Fean KCVO, chairman of the Libyan British Business Council (LBBC) since January 2016. He joined the Foreign Office in 1975, and has served in Iraq, Syria, Malta, Libya (Ambassador 2006 – 10) and Jerusalem (responsible for UK/Palestinian relations 2010 – 14). Deeply interested in Libya/UK business, education and health cooperation, he is also a member of the Palestine Britain Business Council and an Officer of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem.

This will be a wide-ranging discussion that considers the upcoming September elections scheduled in Libya, as well as an overview of the current political actors and situation, and how the UK can play a role in Libya’s future, both through policy and business.
