Jonathan Dart is an International Business Advisor based in the United Kingdom. He served around the world as a UK diplomat between 1988 and 2016 in both delivery and leadership roles. His experience ranges across political, economic, financial, environmental, commercial, STEM and education sectors in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. His most recent diplomatic role was as Director General of UK Trade and Investment (and British Consul General) in Toronto. Jonathan’s final civil service appointment was as UK Government policy lead on Libya, a role which he carried out between 2014 and 2016.
Since leaving Government service in 2016, Jonathan has worked as a consultant. He has advised a number of companies and organisations in both the UK and overseas on international business development. His clients range from small start-ups and high net worth individuals to major corporations. Libya has been a major focus of interest. He is always on the lookout for new opportunities, particularly those which, in addition to being profitable, provide a long term, sustainable benefit to the people of both the UK and Libya.
