St Johns Innovation Centre

Key Sector: Consultancy, Education, Training & Qualifications

Description

St John’s Innovation Centre (SJIC) was established in 1987 by St John’s College, part of the University of Cambridge, on St John’s Innovation Park, a campus setting close to the city centre hosting numerous buildings occupied by knowledge companies and professional services firms. SJIC exists to provide a dynamic & supportive incubation environment to accelerate the growth of ambitious innovative firms, initially in the Cambridge region. Tenants are not required to have any connection with the University of Cambridge, though in practice a high proportion of resident entrepreneurs are Cambridge graduates, often at PhD level.

Profile

Membership of the European Business Network enables SJIC to make targeted contacts with similar firms overseas for its clients as part of a ‘soft landing’ programme. In recent years, SJIC has been involved in advisory and training projects for among other countries Poland, Libya, Oman, Kuwait, Thailand and China.
