Inspired by the success of the LBBC mission to Tunis last November and the Aberdeen Conference in May this year, we are organising a business delegation to Tunis from 22-24 October, to meet Libyan businesses in the state and private sectors. With its ease of access for business people from all parts of Libya, Tunis is the perfect destination to host this event.

This year’s Mission programme will feature Mr Sanalla and his top management team from the National Oil Corporation.  The NOC has further consolidated its position and its production (and training) plans in the last year and there are signs that the interest of international oil companies (IOC) in Libya and in their relationship with the NOC is strengthening.   This will be good for Libya and its economy as a whole.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, H.E. Saddek Elkaber, will also be addressing the delegation on financial matters of interest including the prospects for the economic reform package.

As well as involvement from the National Oil Corporation and the Central Bank of Libya, the LBBC will also be inviting decision makers from Libyan oil companies, Libyan banks, GECOL and other state and parastatal bodies in relevant sectors, including Health and Infrastructure. We will call upon contacts developed by the LBBC over decades. The British Embassy to Libya and the EIC support this mission.

The mission will provide a further opportunity to develop your contacts and information on the political, security and economic environment, as well as the business opportunities in Libya.  We will look not only at energy but also at finance, infrastructure, training and other areas of interest to you, our delegates.

The mission will address Libyan requirements in key sectors, including – but not restricted to – the following:

  • Oil and Gas
  • Training
  • Power supply and distribution
  • Financial Services, including payment processes and Treasury
  • Health/Pharma
  • Infrastructure

Since the venue is Tunis, we will also enable access to Libya-focused businesses based in Tunisia, including banks and other enterprises.
