We are delighted and privileged to announce that Mr Tarik Yousef has accepted our invitation to attend an LBBC Council Lunch on 9 April 2019 when he will speak to us about ‘Libya’s Economic Prospects in the Year Ahead’.
Tarik Yousef is a former member (2012-16) of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) and is a member of the Boards of the Arab Banking Corporation (ABC) and the Arab Financial Services Company. He is also a Senior Fellow in the Global Economy & Development Program at the Brookings Institution. His prolific published work has focused on the political economy of policy reform and youth inclusion in the Arab world and, most recently, he contributed to the Brookings Institution’s latest report on Libya, “Empowered Decentralization: A City-based Strategy for Rebuilding Libya.” Members who attended the Council Lunch on 4 March may recall that our speaker, Michel Cousins, particularly commended this report.
We are indebted to Paul Jennings, CEO of Bank ABC, who has kindly agreed to host on 9 April, from 12.00 to 2.30 pm. We do hope you are able to attend.
