LBBC Webinar: Derna flood disaster and the relief effort

We are grateful to Dr Mohsen Derregia and Nader Elgadi for their insightful briefing and answering questions from LBBC members today on the relief efforts in the aftermath of the Derna floods.

Dr Mohsen Derregia PhD and Nader Elgadi have both been involved in relief activity following the Derna floods and spoke of the effects of the disaster on the people of Derna and about delivering relief in eastern Libya from first hand experience. 

Mohsen Derregia, who studied and taught at universities in the UK, returned to Libya in 2012 when he was appointed Chairman and CEO of the Libyan Investment Authority, the LIA (2012-2013). He is now an independent business and investment consultant. He has been personally involved in relief efforts for Derna. 

Nader Elgadi is a Director of Libya in the UK (www.libyaintheuk.org), a registered charity that seeks to act as a non-political hub for Libyans in the UK and to foster their sense of community. He is also a Director of Fekra Media (www.fekramedia.co.uk), a public relations and communications company. Nader and Libya in the UK have played a notable role in coordinating the relief effort by the Libyan community in the UK.
