We understand that COVID-19 and the response to it may be affecting your business, and the Department for International Trade is keen to support UK businesses as best we can during this period. You may be aware of the restrictions on travel into Libya that came into force this week. The British Embassy to Libya remains functional although currently in Tunis, and our team is ready to discuss any challenges you might be experiencing, and to point you in the direction of resources and assistance available. . Our Local Trade Advisor in Tripoli can offer support to businesses operating in Libya (where there are currently no COVID-19 cases).
Please feel free to contact me as Head of Trade, who will be available during office hours.
DIT’s official support for UK businesses during COVID-19 can be found on the gov.uk website here.
Yesterday the Chancellor of the Exchequer also announced additional financial support to protect businesses impacted by COVID-19, details of which can be found here.
Please do keep up to date with FCO travel guidance on Libya, noting that the FCO advises against all travel to Libya, and I would advise you to sign up to the travel alerts, which you can find at the top of the page.
Best regards,
Lydie
