The LBBC records with deep regret the death on 10 November of LBBC’s Joint Deputy Chairman, Oliver Miles CMG.  Mr Miles was HM Ambassador to Libya in 1984 and later Ambassador to Luxembourg and then to Greece.  He was also, in the early 1990s, the first Director General of the Joint Directorate of Overseas Trade Services which most recently evolved into the Department for International Trade.  His wisdom and warm personality were hugely appreciated by his colleagues on the LBBC Board and will be keenly missed.
