Vellichor Risk Ltd. announces that Brigadier General (Retd) Robert Jefferies (Rob) has joined our Libyan venture as Country Director. Rob will be overseeing country operations as well as providing strategic support for business development in-country.

Rob served over 34 years with the British Army, leaving as a Brigadier General. He has commanded a regular infantry battalion and has extensive operational service, including Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq. He was appointed CBE in 2014.

With over three decades of Counter Terrorism and Counter Insurgency experience, Rob has been instrumental to the delivery of specialist training programmes across the MENA region. Previously responsible for training the Iraqi Police Force in Anbar Province and UAE Special Operations Group, his final appointment as UK Defence Attaché in Iraq, delivered UK strategic intent to develop the capability and capacity of the Iraqi Armed Forces. As a former board member of the Conflict, Stability and Security Fund in Iraq, Rob has worked closely with the Foreign Office, DFID and a broad range of international NGOs.

Rob holds a BSc(Hons) and an MBA.
